Powered Hand Tools Syllabus

Course Duration: 1 day

Ratio:  1 Instructor: 10 trainees

Aim: To provide the theoretical and practical knowledge to correctly use and take care of Powered Hand Tools both electrical and pneumatic.

Elements: The Powered Hand Tools course will comprise of theoretical and practical instruction covering the following:-

a. Responsibilities under the health and Safety Law

b. Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999

c. The Provisional Use Of Work Equipment Regulations 1998

d. Control of Noise Regulations 2005

e. Records and Inspections

Knowledge:   On completion of Powered Hand Tools training trainees will have a theoretical understanding of the following:-

a. Responsibilities under the Health and safety Law and other relevant legislation

b. Common causes of Accidents

c. Selection of Work Equipment

d. Inspection of Work Equipment

e. Personal Protective Equipment

Skill:   On completion of Powered Hand Tools training the trainees will be able to:-

a. Check and inspect work Equipment

b. Be aware of their responsibilities as regards to inspection

c. Correctly wear safety equipment

d. Record of safety checks on safety equipment

e. Circumstances, and methods adopted.
