Working at Heights from and on vehicles Syllabus

Aim: To provide the theoretical knowledge of working at Heights from vehicles
Elements: The course will comprise of theoretical instruction covering the following:-
- Responsibilities under the health and Safety Law
- Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
- The Provisional Use Of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
- Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998
- The Work At Height Regulations 2005
- Records and Inspections
- Personal Protective Equipment
- General knowledge of various equipment for working at height from vehicles: Harness Ladder
Knowledge: On completion of training the trainees will have a theoretical understanding of the following:-
- Responsibilities under the Health and safety Law and relevant statutory legislation
- Common causes of Falls at Height
- Organisation and Planning of Work at Height
- Selection of Work Equipment for Work at Height
- Inspection of Work Equipment
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Safe Use of Harness
- Basic Ladder Safety
- Theoretical knowledge of methods of safe evacuation / recovery from heights
Skill On completion of training the trainees will be able to
a. Understand the safety requirements of working at height from vehicles
b. Correctly wear safety equipment.
