In House Trainer

The candidate(s) must have an operators certificate from an Accredited Training Company (i.e. not an In House certificate). The operator must have attended a refresher course within the last 6 months.  Confirmation is needed prior to attending the course.  The In House Trainer can train, test and issue a certificate to their company’s employees only on truck / equipment for which they themselves have carried out the In House Trainer course on.

The following instructions are designed to assist you in preparing yourself for a 3 day In House Trainer Course.

Assessments

You will be assessed on the following elements throughout the course:

  1. Instructional Techniques
  2. Operators Ability
  3. Classroom Lesson
  4. Practical Demonstration
  5. Practical Lesson
  6. Report Writing

Element 1 is a 42 Multi choice question paper.  A 100% pass mark is required on all theory tests.

Element 2 requires you to pass an operators test .

Element 3 requires you to demonstrate your ability to conduct a classroom lesson on a theoretical subject related to the equipment.  This is to assess your basic instructional techniques i.e. the use of visual aids, question and answer techniques, use of PowerPoint.  At the end of each lesson a critique will be given and any constructive points discussed and recorded on the course documentation.

ELEMENT 4 requires you to carry out a demonstration on a lesson of the tutors choice related to the equipment.  This is to assess you demonstrating without any errors, explaining the demo, student participation, confirmation techniques and basic instructional techniques. At the end of each lesson a critique will be given and any constructive points discussed and recorded on the course documentation.

ELEMENT 5 requires you to carry out a practical lesson on a subject related to the equipment. This is to assess your ability on student participation, confirmation techniques, and basic instructional techniques. At the end of each lesson a critique will be given and any constructive points discussed and recorded on the course documentation.

ELEMENT 6 requires you to write a report.

Assessment on all the above elements will be carried out throughout the three day course. If you are referred on any of the above elements, further assessments will be required until you pass that element. This can be done on the course given the availability of spare time within the programme or can be carried out at a later date.
